In 2011, Hardywood Park was an risky oddball brewery launched in a dicey warehouse district in Richmond near The Diamond baseball field. The last six years has seen the brewery evolve as a cornerstone of the tremendous growth of the beer culture across the state, not only by their multiple expansions and increased productions, but by the evolution of that part of the city into a hip modern beer scene known across the country. We all know the names of their most sought after beers and their many legendary stouts, but the scope of their quality and expertise genuinely extends across the full spectrum. The experimental releases here in town at the pilot brewery and taphouse shows how they continue to play around and push the boundaries even as they are about to launch a huge multi-million dollar production facility. They are truly one of the great Virginia beer success stories, and one of the reasons events like the Virginia Craft Beer Festival are so exciting as we all look for our next big favorite. For the tasting today, we will be featuring the newly released 'Cuvee Gold' (formerly Vinalia Urbana, renamed because too many people read it as 'Vanilla') and the Virginia Blackberry, as well as their three core 6pack beers of VIPA, Pilsner, and Singel. We are also launching a special everyday discounted price for these three beers of $9.29/6pack which will last through the end of the year. Come on by and give them as try!
