 LOTS of fun stuff to enjoy today, including a few beers new to the store this year, and absolutely nothing that would be considered your 'everyday' pumpkin beers. On deck are the Lickinghole Creek Carrot Cake (not technically a pumpkin beer since they actually WAIT to harvest actual pumpkins, but spiced similarly), Breckenridge 'Pumpkin Spiced Latte' Nitro Stout, Blue Mountain 'Spooky' Imperial Pumpkin Ale (Bourbon aged over coca nibs, uses pureed pumpkin and NO spices), South Street 'Twisted Gourd' (cocoa nibs and Chai spice), Heavy Seas 'The Greater Pumpkin' Bourbon Aged Imperial Pumpkin Ale, Three Notch'd 'Pumperkin' Pumpkin IPA (sounds crazy but it works!), and Blacksnake Meadery 'Squashed' (a semi-sweet combination of wildflower honey, butternut squash, and spices).  We waited as long as we could before doing our pumpkin beer tasting, which allowed us to break out more of the unique and exotic bottlings. All too often these beers are so much about the spice, and there is a lot of homogenized same-ness about a lot of the releases. We can assure you that NONE of those beers will be on display. The final lineup of 6+ beers will be finalized and posted on Facebook tomorrow, as well as in the Allocations/New Arrivals email that will go out as well, but can promise a fun mix of local and national breweries will be on display, and even a pumpkin spiced mead! We will also be offering a10% discount on all the beers being tasted Friday. Hope to see you here!

Oktoberfests on deck for today are Paulaner (Germany; 200th anniversary Wiesn version), Ayinger (Germany) Hofstetten (Austria; made to the original specifications from 1810), Firestone Walker (California) Port City (Virginia; GABF award winner) Three Notch's 'Hansel & Kettle' (Just Arrived TODAY!) and Champion (Virginia; brand new).
